What Happened
The charcoal canister in your motorcycle is a part that helps clean up gasoline vapors. It's connected to a ventilation hose that brings in fresh air. But on some 2008-2010 F650 and F800 GS models, this hose is routed in a way that lets water in, which can cause problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If water gets into the canister, it could cause your motorcycle to stall while you're riding. This increases the risk of a crash, especially if you're on a slippery surface or traveling at high speed.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the hose and add a protective one to keep water out. This fix is free of charge, and you should schedule it as soon as possible to stay safe on the road.
