Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN
What Happened
The engine cooling fan in your Volvo is a critical part that helps keep your engine cool. In some 2008-2009 models, a software error could cause the fan to stop working, reducing cooling performance and causing engine temperatures to rise.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fan fails, your engine could overheat, leading to engine failure. This could leave you with little time to react, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the faulty fan control module with a new one, free of charge. This repair is expected to start in July 2009, and you should schedule it as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
