What Happened
The engine auxiliary/cooling fan's motor may fail, causing the fan to stop working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fan stops working, your engine could overheat and potentially get damaged, or a fire could start in the engine compartment.
Free Fix
Your local dealership will replace the fan for free, and you'll be notified starting September 28, 2001. If you don't get the repair done within a reasonable time, contact BMW at 1-800-831-1117.
