Risk if Unfixed
If one of these sections fractures while you're driving, you could lose control of your vehicle, which could cause a serious accident.
Free Fix
Your Porsche dealer will replace the rear-axle carrier side sections with stronger, more reliable parts, completely free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

The part that keeps your 911, Boxster, or Cayman's hood closed is the upper lock on the front of your car. In some 2014-2015 models, this part wasn't made right and could fail to lock the hood properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the hood lock fails, the hood could suddenly fly open while you're driving, blocking your view of the road and making it harder to steer your car. This could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Porsche dealer will replace the faulty lock with a new one, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
