What Happened
Your vehicle's automatic transmission may have a faulty part that helps the transmission shift into park.
Risk if Unfixed
If this part fails, your vehicle's parking gear might not engage, which can cause the vehicle to roll away when parked on an incline, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
A free repair will be performed by the dealership to replace the faulty part, starting on November 19, 2005. You can contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837 for more information.

CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH AN INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PARKING PAWL GUIDE PLATE.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
CONSEQUENTLY PARK MAY NOT ENGAGE WHEN THE LEVER IN THE VEHICLE IS MOVED TO PARK AND ALL INDICATORS SHOW PARK POSITION IS ACHIEVED. IF THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, AND THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED, THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE ROLL-AWAY CONDITION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PARKING PAWL GUIDE PLATE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 19, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT LAND ROVER AT 1-800-637-6837.
