SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE

Manufacturer
Kia America, Inc.
What Happened
The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) in your vehicle is like a computer that helps control your brakes. In some 2010-2019 models, this unit can malfunction and cause a short circuit, which could lead to a fire in the engine compartment, even while the vehicle is parked or being driven.
Risk if Unfixed
If the HECU fails, there's a real risk of an engine compartment fire, which could cause serious injury, especially if you're parked near something flammable or if you're caught off guard while driving.
Free Fix
Your Kia dealer will replace the faulty HECU fuse for free, so schedule the repair right away. In the meantime, when parking, please keep your vehicle away from buildings and other flammable objects until the recall is complete.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS

Manufacturer
Kia Motors America
What Happened
Your K900's LED headlights are controlled by a multi-function switch. In some 2015-2016 models, this switch could build up electrical resistance while driving, making your headlights flicker or turn off.
Risk if Unfixed
If your headlights fail, it's harder to see the road ahead, which increases the risk of a crash. You may struggle to see pedestrians, other cars, or obstacles, especially at night or in low-light conditions.
Free Fix
Your Kia dealer will replace the faulty switch with a new one, and the repair is free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
