What Happened
Your vehicle's rearview camera helps you see what's behind you when you're in reverse. In some 2026 models of your Jeep or Chrysler, the camera image might not show up when you're in reverse.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera image fails to display when you're backing up, you'll have a reduced view of what's behind your vehicle, making it harder to avoid a crash or pedestrian.
Free Fix
Your dealer will update the radio system's software to ensure the rearview camera works properly, and this update will be done at no cost to you. You'll get a notice by mail starting September 1, 2026, and you can also contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 for more information.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, Ram Promaster, Ram Promaster EV, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler Voyager, and 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger vehicles. The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 1, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 78D. The rearview camera is an essential safety feature that helps you see what's behind your vehicle. In your 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer L, the camera's wiring might not be connected correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera image doesn't display, you'll have a blind spot while reversing. This could lead to a crash, especially when backing up into a crowded area, like a parking lot or narrow alley.
