What Happened
The pivot bolts in your Jeep's roof rack system are the small metal pieces that keep your crossbars securely attached. In some 2022-2026 models, these bolts weren't tightened properly, which could cause them to come loose and fall off.
Risk if Unfixed
If the roof rack crossbars come loose, they could create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a collision. A loose crossbar could also fall on the road, causing a potentially serious accident.
Free Fix
Your authorized Jeep dealer will replace the faulty pivot bolts with new ones, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and it won't cost you anything.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Jeep Wagoneer, 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2023-2025 Jeep Wagoneer L, and 2023-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L vehicles. The pivot bolts for the roof rack crossbars may not have been tightened properly, allowing them to detach.

Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the roof rack crossbar pivot bolts, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed October 8, 2026. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 81D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 17, 2026.
