What Happened
The pivot bolts are small metal rods that connect the roof rack crossbars to the roof pillars. They help keep the crossbars stable while you're driving. However, in some 2022-2026 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models, these bolts might not have been tightened correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the roof rack crossbars come loose, they could fall off while you're driving, creating a road hazard that could cause a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the pivot bolts that hold the roof rack crossbars in place, absolutely free, as soon as the final remedy is available. Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Jeep Wagoneer, 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2023-2025 Jeep Wagoneer L, and 2023-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L vehicles. The pivot bolts for the roof rack crossbars may not have been tightened properly, allowing them to detach.

Dealers will replace the roof rack crossbar pivot bolts, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed October 8, 2026. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 81D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 17, 2026.
