SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) in your vehicle is like a computer that helps you stop safely. In some 2013-2014 Pathfinders, JX35s, and QX60s, the ABS software might not work perfectly on bumpy roads, making it harder to stop in time.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens on a rough road, you could take a little longer to stop than usual, increasing the risk of a collision.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will upgrade the ABS software for free, so you should schedule a visit as soon as you get the recall notice.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY

Manufacturer
NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
Your 2013 Infiniti JX35 has a potential problem with the fuel tank. One of the tubes inside the tank might be in the wrong place, which can cause the fuel gauge to show a higher fuel level than it actually is.
Risk if Unfixed
If your fuel gauge isn't accurate, you could run out of gas unexpectedly. This could cause your car to stall, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Nissan will fix this for you at no cost. A dealer will inspect the tank, move the tube to the right place, and install a new seal. You'll be notified when it's time to bring your car in.

Original — What Happened
Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles manufactured from February 15, 2012, through June 22, 2012. Due to an assembly issue, the fuel transfer tube may be misrouted inside the fuel tank. As a result, the fuel level float may be prevented from dropping as the fuel is consumed and the fuel guage may read a fuel level higher than actually exists.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel guage does not accurately show when the tank is becoming empty, the vehicle may run out of gas unexpectedly, stalling, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and re-route the fuel transfer tube and install a new O-ring, free of charge. The recall began on September 10, 2012. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
Your vehicle has a sensor that helps determine if the passenger seat is occupied by an adult or child. In some 2013-2017 models, this sensor might not work correctly, which can prevent the front passenger airbag from deploying in a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If the passenger airbag doesn't deploy when it should, you or your passenger could be at risk of more serious injury in a collision.
Free Fix
Your Nissan or Infiniti dealer will reprogram the airbag system and replace the faulty sensor, free of charge. You'll receive a notice when the repair is ready, and you should schedule it as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. What Happened
The occupant classification system in your vehicle is supposed to detect if there's a person in the front passenger seat. However, in some cases, the system might not recognize an adult passenger, which is a problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If the system doesn't know there's a passenger, the airbag for that seat might not deploy during a crash. If that happens, you or a loved one could get hurt more seriously.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will update the system's software to fix this issue, and it won't cost you anything. They'll contact you when the repair is ready to be done.

These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

AIR BAGS

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The Occupant Detection System in your vehicle uses sensors to determine if a passenger is present and ready for airbag deployment. In some 2013 Altima, LEAF, Pathfinder, Sentra, and Infiniti JX35 models, these sensors were made incorrectly, which could cause the passenger airbag to stay suppressed even when it should deploy.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash and the passenger airbag doesn't deploy, you or your passenger could be at greater risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will inspect the sensors and replace them if needed, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, and you can also call Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261 for more information.

What Happened
Your vehicle has a computer system that checks if there's someone in the passenger seat. In some 2013-2014 Nissan models, this system might think an adult is not there when they actually are.
Risk if Unfixed
If the system doesn't know a grown-up is in the passenger seat, the airbag won't deploy in a crash where it's needed. This could lead to a serious injury to the passenger.
Free Fix
Nissan will update the computer system for free. Your dealer will make the update at no cost to you, so schedule an appointment as soon as you get the recall notice.
