NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
The belt tension sensor and occupant detection sensor in your Infiniti G35 are crucial for deploying the front passenger airbag in the event of a crash. In some 2005-2007 models, the wiring harness connecting these sensors can wear out and cause a signal interruption.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash, the airbag might not deploy, which could lead to serious injury or harm to the front passenger.
Free Fix
Your Infiniti dealer will fix the issue by repairing the wiring harness, and this service is completely free. You should contact Infiniti to schedule the repair as soon as possible.

AIR BAGS

Manufacturer
NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
The airbag control unit in your vehicle uses a varistor (a special component that helps it work) that might not have been made correctly. This varistor is usually hidden in the passenger seat cushion.
Risk if Unfixed
If this varistor fails, it could stop the passenger airbag from deploying in a crash — leaving you without extra protection in a critical moment.
Free Fix
Your authorized Nissan or Infiniti dealer will test the airbag system to make sure it's working properly. If needed, they'll replace the faulty seat cushion with a new one, free of charge. You'll get a notice with more information, but you can also contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.

A VARISTOR IN THE OCS CONTROL UNIT LOCATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATION. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THIS COULD CAUSE AN INTERRUPTION OF SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT (ACU).
Original — Risk if Unfixed
THIS COULD RESULT IN THE PASSENGER AIR BAG BEING SUPPRESSED WHICH COULD FAIL TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL TEST THE SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND ACU SYSTEMS USING A SPECIAL TOOL TO CHECK THAT IT IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. IF NECESSARY, THE SEAT CUSHION (CONTAINING OCS HARDWARE) WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE MANUFACTURED TO SPECIFICATION. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 4, 2008. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS

Manufacturer
NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
Your vehicle's headlights are designed to shine bright and clear on the road, but in certain models, the light output might not meet safety standards.
Risk if Unfixed
If your headlights don't meet these standards, it could be harder for other drivers to see you on the road, especially at night or in low-visibility conditions, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Infiniti dealer will swap out your old headlight assemblies with new ones that meet the safety standards, and this repair is completely free – just schedule it with the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
CERTAIN VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE "VERTICAL GRADIENT" AND "HEADLAMP PHOTOMETRIC VALUES" REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, 'LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.'
Original — Risk if Unfixed
THIS STANDARD IS TO REDUCE CRASHES, INJURIES AND DEATHS BY PROVIDING ADEQUATE ILLUMINATION OF THE ROADWAY, AND BY ENHANCING THE CONSPICUITY OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE PUBLIC ROADS SO THAT THEIR PRESENCE IS PERCEIVED AND THEIR SIGNALS UNDERSTOOD, BOTH IN DAYLIGHT AND IN DARKNESS OR OTHER CONDITIONS OF REDUCED VISIBILITY.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT APRIL 16, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INFINITI AT 1-800-662-6200.
