Component
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Manufacturer
General Motors, LLC
What Happened
The sensing and diagnostic module in your GMC Canyon is like a brain that helps control your air bag. In some 2024-2026 AT4X AEV models, this module might send the wrong signal, causing the air bag to deploy more forcefully than intended.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could suffer more severe injuries in a crash because the air bag is not deploying properly.
Free Fix
Your GMC dealer will update the software controlling your air bag system, and this repair is free. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice.
