What Happened
The Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) in your Ford Bronco or Edge is like a computer brain that helps the rearview camera work. In some 2021-2026 models, this module can overheat and stop working, affecting the camera display.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera doesn't show you what's behind your vehicle, you might not see pedestrians, bicycles, or other cars, which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the APIM software or send an update to your vehicle remotely, free of charge. You should schedule the update as soon as you get your recall notice.
