What Happened
The transmission control module in your vehicle controls the flow of power to the gears. In some 2019-2022 models, a software issue could cause the transmission to become damaged, leading to a faulty connection between the gears and wheels.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the wheels could lock up while you're driving, making it hard to steer or brake. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will install a software update to monitor the transmission control module, which will help prevent this issue from happening. This service is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Cadillac CT6, 2020-2021 CT4, CT5, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles equipped with a 10-speed transmission. The transmission may become damaged internally and cause the wheels to lock-up.

Dealers will install transmission control module monitoring software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 7, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242480630.
