What Happened
The driver-side air bag in your vehicle is a safety device that inflates to protect you in a crash. In some 2013 models, the air bag's inflator might be faulty and could explode when it deploys.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflator explodes, sharp metal fragments could hit you or other occupants, causing serious injury or even death in a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a new one, and on some models, the steering wheel will also be replaced – all at no cost to you. Schedule the repair as soon as you get your recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2013 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Camero, Sonic, and Volt vehicles. The driver-side air bag inflator may explode during deployment due to a manufacturing defect.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver-side air bag module, free of charge. On some 2013 Volt vehicles, the steering wheel will be replaced as well, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 23, 2023. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 and Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.
