What Happened
The urethane bead around your windshield is supposed to seal it tightly to your vehicle's body. In some cases, it might not have formed properly, which can cause the windshield to come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash, the windshield could shatter or separate from the vehicle, putting you at risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the windshield for free, so you should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 212, 'WINDSHIELD MOUNTING.' THE WINDSHIELD URETHANE BEAD MAY NOT HAVE ADHERED TO THE BODY IN CERTAIN AREAS DURING THE CURE PROCESS.
