What Happened
The headliner in your 2016-2017 Buick Envision is the fabric or material that lines the roof of your car. In some cases, the replacement headliner your dealer installed might not have the special foam blocks that help absorb impact forces in a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in an accident and the foam blocks are missing, you could be at higher risk of injury due to the increased impact forces on your head and body.
Free Fix
Your Buick dealer will replace the headliner assembly with a new one that includes the necessary foam blocks, all at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Buick Envision vehicles. The affected vehicles received a replacement headliner as part of a repair. These service parts might not have had impact energy-absorbing foam blocks attached. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant protection in interior impact."
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the service parts do not have energy-absorbing foam blocks, there may be an increased risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash.
Original — Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the headliner assembly, free of charge. The recall began on July 28, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's number for this recall is 17275.
