Component
POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:SHAFT:INPUT
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The input shaft is a crucial part of your motorcycle's transmission, connecting the engine to the gears. In your 2019-2023 R1250GS, R1250GS Adventure, or R1250RTP, this shaft could become damaged or break under certain driving conditions.
Risk if Unfixed
If the input shaft fails, it could lock up your rear wheel, making it hard to control your motorcycle. This increases the risk of a crash, which could put you and others in harm's way.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the engine control unit software, free of charge. You should schedule this update as soon as possible to ensure your motorcycle's safety.
