Component
POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:SHAFT:INPUT
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The input shaft in your motorcycle's manual transmission is like a crucial gear that helps your bike shift smoothly. In some 2019-2023 models, this shaft can get damaged or break under certain driving conditions.
Risk if Unfixed
If the shaft breaks, your rear wheel could lock up, making it hard to control your bike, especially at high speeds. This could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update your motorcycle's engine control software, which should prevent the shaft from getting damaged. This update won't cost you anything, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
