Component

POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:SHAFT:INPUT

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The input shaft in your motorcycle's manual transmission is like a long rod that connects your gears to your wheels. In some 2019-2023 BMW R1250GS, Adventure, and RTP models, this shaft can get damaged or break, especially in certain driving conditions.
Risk if Unfixed
If the shaft breaks or gets damaged, it could block your rear wheel, making it hard to control your motorcycle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the software that controls your engine's computer, and this service is completely free. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice.
