What Happened
The side-stand switch on your motorcycle is what tells the engine to start when you press the kickstand down. In some 2013 BMW models, water can get into this switch, stopping the engine from starting or shutting it off while you're riding.
Risk if Unfixed
If water gets into the switch, your motorcycle could suddenly shut down, increasing the risk of a crash. This is a serious situation that could put you and others in danger.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty side-stand switch with a new, water-resistant one at no charge to you. You'll get a notification with instructions on how to schedule the repair.
