Critical #14V211000 Plain English
Component

POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your 2013 BMW R 1200 GS motorcycle's transmission has a seal that keeps oil inside the transmission. It's possible that pressure inside the transmission can push this seal out of place.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seal gets pushed out of position, oil could leak onto the rear tire, which could cause a crash.
Free Fix
BMW will fix this for free by installing a bracket to keep the seal in place. They will notify you when it's time to bring your bike in, and you can also contact them at 1-800-525-7417 if you have any questions.
