SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The brake system in your vehicle has a critical component that helps prevent wheel lockup during hard braking. In certain models, this part might not have been welded correctly, which could cause it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could lose ABS and braking assistance while driving, making it harder to stop your vehicle safely. This increases the risk of a crash, especially in emergency situations.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty brake system with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, and it's already been mailed to you.

SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The front seat belt buckles in your vehicle have sensors that check if you're wearing your seatbelt. In some 2020 models, these sensors might get it wrong and think you're unbuckled when you're not.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the airbags and seatbelt pretensioners might not work correctly in a crash. This could lead to a higher risk of injury to you and the person sitting in the front passenger seat.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will check and replace the faulty seat belt buckles for free, as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag and/or seat belt pretensioners deploy improperly in the event of a crash, there is an increased risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.
Original — Remedy
BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the front seat belt buckles, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 18, 2020. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The rearview camera in your vehicle helps you see what's behind you when you're reversing. In some 2019-2021 BMW models, the camera's image might not show the whole picture, or the screen might not turn on at all when you shift into Reverse.
Risk if Unfixed
If you rely only on the rearview camera, a partial or missing image could make it harder to see what's behind you, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the camera software and update it if needed, all at no cost to you. They'll fix this issue as soon as you schedule an appointment, usually within a few weeks after you receive the recall notice.
