CHILD SEAT:TETHER: CONNECTOR/CLIP

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The top tether anchor for the middle seat in your BMW is the part that keeps a child seat secure. In some 2020-2021 7-series models, this anchor is harder to access than it should be.
Risk if Unfixed
If you put a child seat on the middle seat without using the three-point safety belt, it could increase the risk of serious injury in a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will install a protective cover over the tether anchor at the rear middle seat, free of charge. In the meantime, you should use the outboard seats or the middle seat with the three-point safety belt to keep your child safe.

If you're relying only on the rearview camera, you might miss something behind your car, increasing the risk of a crash or injury when reversing.
Free Fix
