AIR BAGS: AIR BAG/RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your iX's air bag control module, which is like a computer that makes sure your airbags deploy correctly, has some software that might be out of date.
Risk if Unfixed
If this software is faulty, your air bag warning light might not come on even if there's a problem with the air bags, which means you might not know if your air bags won't work in a crash. This increases the risk of serious injury or death.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will reprogram the air bag control unit software to make sure it's working correctly, all for free. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
