SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The integrated brake system in your vehicle has a critical component that connects the brake rotor to the brake shaft. In some 2020-2021 models, this connection might not be properly welded, which could cause it to fail during hard braking.
Risk if Unfixed
If the connection fails while you're braking hard, you could lose the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and braking assistance, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty brake system with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive your recall notice, and you can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.
