What Happened
The water pump in your vehicle helps keep your engine cool by circulating coolant. In some affected BMW models, a small electrical connector on the water pump can get damaged, letting water in and causing a short circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If the electrical connector is damaged, it could spark a fire in your engine compartment, which could spread quickly and cause serious damage to your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the water pump and electrical connector, replace them if necessary, and add a protective shield to prevent future issues – all at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

What Happened
Your vehicle has a fuel pump that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some 2014-2015 BMW models, the pump's metal parts may not be properly coated, which could cause it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pump fails without warning, your vehicle could stall while driving, making it hard to control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one at no cost to you. You've already received a notice, but if you need to schedule the repair, just call BMW's customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to set it up.

What Happened
The brake power assist system in your vehicle uses a vacuum pump that needs to be properly lubricated. In some 2012-2014 BMW models, this pump might not get enough lubrication, which could cause it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake power assist pump fails, you'll lose some of your vehicle's braking power. This could make it harder to stop, especially on steep hills or in emergency situations, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will install a locking ring to keep the camshaft seal in place, ensuring the vacuum pump gets the lubrication it needs to work properly. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

The head air bag in your vehicle is a safety device that deploys in the event of a side collision. In some 2014-2015 BMW models, the air bag inflator may fail at the weld joint, causing gas to leak or the inflator to rupture.

If the inflator ruptures, sharp metal fragments could fly into your vehicle and cause serious injury. Alternatively, if the gas leaks, the air bag may not fully deploy in a crash, also putting you at risk of injury.
