Component
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is responsible for sending gasoline from the tank to your engine. In your 2014-2015 BMW, the fuel pump's metal components might be coated with a thin layer of nickel that's not doing its job properly, which could lead to a malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump fails, your engine could stall without warning while you're driving, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
