BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
In your 2023 330e or 330e xDrive, the rearview camera system is a software that helps you see what's behind your vehicle when you back up. However, the software in some of these vehicles can cause a part of the image to be blocked.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview image is partially blocked, you might not see important things behind your vehicle, like people or obstacles, which could increase the risk of a crash when you're backing up.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the rearview camera software to fix this issue for free. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice, and you can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 if you have any questions.
