What Happened
The side air bag in your driver's seat is a safety feature that inflates to protect you in a side impact crash. In certain 2023-2024 Audi models, this air bag might be attached incorrectly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag isn't securely attached, it could fail to protect you in a side crash, increasing the risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will inspect and reattach the side air bag properly, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2023-2024 SQ8, RSQ8, Q8, Q7, and 2024 SQ7 vehicles. The driver's seat side air bag may have been improperly mounted to the seatback frame. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 214, "Side Impact Protection."

An improperly mounted air bag may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will inspect and reinstall the air bag as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2024. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 69GA.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle uses a camera to show what's behind you when you're in reverse. In some 2019-2026 Audi models, a software glitch might prevent this camera image from showing up on your screen.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview image doesn't display, you'll have a reduced view behind your vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash, especially when backing up.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the software for the rearview camera system at no cost to you. This should be done as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2019-2026 vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. A software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
