Component
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
Your passenger air bag system relies on a special cable to communicate with the air bag computer. In some 2017-2019 Audi models, this cable can develop a problem that makes the air bag computer think the system is malfunctioning.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your passenger air bag might not deploy in a crash, which could lead to serious injury or harm to you or your passenger.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will secure the cable with special ties to prevent the misdiagnosis, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice to ensure your safety on the road.
