Component
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The passenger side airbag in your vehicle is designed to inflate in the event of a crash to protect you and others in the car. But in certain models, the inflator, which contains a propellant, can degrade over time and suddenly explode.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the explosion could send sharp metal fragments flying into the vehicle, hitting you or others inside. This could cause serious injury or even be fatal.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty passenger side airbag inflator with a new one, at no cost to you. This is a free repair, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
