PARKING BRAKE

Manufacturer
Tesla, Inc.
What Happened
The parking brake system in your Semi truck relies on a small computer called the electronic parking brake valve module (PVM). In some 2023 models, this PVM might not engage the parking brake properly when you release the brake pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If the parking brake doesn't engage as expected, your Semi truck could roll away when you release the brake pedal. This increases the risk of a crash, especially on slopes or uneven terrain.
Free Fix
Tesla will replace the faulty parking brake valve module for free. You should contact Tesla customer service to schedule the repair as soon as possible.

Manufacturer
Tesla, Inc.
What Happened
The door open warning system in your Tesla Semi is supposed to alert you when a side door is not fully latched or not closed while you're driving. However, this system can be dismissed, which means you might not know if your door is secure.
Risk if Unfixed
If you drive with an unsecured door, you could get injured if it opens while you're moving. This is a serious safety risk that could cause harm to you or your passengers.
Free Fix
Tesla has already fixed this issue with a free software update, which has been applied to all affected vehicles. If you have any questions, you can contact Tesla's customer service at 1-877-798-3752.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2023 Semi vehicles. The door open warning indicator only displays when the vehicle's parking brake is not engaged and the side door is not fully latched. In addition, the door closure warning system allows the operator to dismiss the notification that the side door is unlatched, which could result in driving with an unsecured door. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An operator may be unaware of an unsecured door and begin driving, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
Original — Remedy
Tesla has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. All affected vehicles were repaired by June 2023. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752.
