What Happened
The traction battery in your vehicle is a critical system that powers your electric motor. In some 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ, Escalade IQL, GMC Sierra EV, and Chevrolet Silverado EV models, a component inside the battery may not be securely attached.
Risk if Unfixed
If the component shifts inside the battery, it could damage the high voltage system, potentially causing a fire, which is a serious safety risk.

How to Get This Fixed

Free Fix
Your authorized dealer will replace the traction battery with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair when you receive the recall notice letter, which will be mailed on September 14, 2026.
