FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
What Happened
The lock ring in your Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon is a small part that keeps the fuel pump securely attached to the fuel tank. In some cases, it might not have been locked properly during assembly.
Risk if Unfixed
If there's a crash, the fuel pump could leak fuel, and if that fuel meets an ignition source, it could catch fire and cause serious damage.
Free Fix
Your dealer will check the fuel tank lock ring and make sure it's securely locked, at no cost to you. This repair is completely free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
