What Happened
The tailgate panel on your BMW XM is held in place by a special adhesive that didn't bond correctly during production. This means it could come loose while you're driving or even while you're parked.
Risk if Unfixed
If the panel comes loose, it could fall off and become a road hazard, which could cause a crash or damage other vehicles.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will check the tailgate panel and replace it if necessary – at no cost to you. They'll get it fixed as soon as you get the recall notice.
