There's a problem with the electrical system in your vehicle's driver's side footwell area. The electronic control module might get damaged by water and road salt, causing a short-circuit.
RISK_ASSESSMENT
If the electronic control module shorts, it could start a fire, which can be a serious safety risk.
RESOLUTION_PROTOCOL
We'll inspect your sunroof drains and footwell area, and if needed, we'll replace some components at no cost to you. You'll receive a letter with more information by May 13, 2024, or you can contact BMW customer service at 1-866-825-1525.
