What Happened
The electronic control module in your MINI's footwell area is a small computer that helps control various systems. It's located under your driver's side floor mat and might be exposed to water and road salt, which can cause it to short-circuit.

If the control module shorts out, it could cause a fire in your vehicle, which could spread quickly and be extremely dangerous.
Free Fix
Your authorized MINI dealer will inspect the sunroof drains, the area under your driver's side floor mat, and other components. Based on their findings, they'll replace any parts that need it, at no cost to you. You should receive a notification letter with details on the repair and contact your dealer when you get it.
