What Happened
The transmission in your vehicle is the system that helps your car move forward and change gears. In certain 2021-2022 Hyundai models, the transmission's 'fail-safe' mode, which is designed to keep you safe if something goes wrong, might not work properly if the transmission oil pump fails.
Risk if Unfixed
If the transmission oil pump fails, your vehicle could lose power and stall, making it harder to control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will check and replace the transmission if necessary, and also update the transmission's computer software, all free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice.
