What Happened
The high voltage battery in your vehicle is the part that powers the electric motor. In some 2022-2023 iX and i4 models, this battery could have internal damage that causes an electrical short-circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If the high voltage battery short-circuits, it could catch fire, posing a serious risk to you and others nearby.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty high voltage battery at no cost to you. For now, please don't drive or charge your vehicle, and park it outside and away from buildings until the repair is done.
