What Happened
The antilock-brake system (ABS) control unit is like a brain for your brakes, making sure they work smoothly and safely. In some 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango models, this unit can malfunction and think the brakes are working when they're not.
Risk if Unfixed
If the ABS system fails, your vehicle could start to roll away without you realizing it, even if you shift it out of Park. This could cause a crash without any warning and potentially hurt people outside the vehicle.
Free Fix
Your Jeep or Dodge dealer will update the ABS control unit software to prevent this malfunction, and the repair is completely free. You'll get a notice when it's time for the repair, and you should schedule it as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
