What Happened
The audible chime in your vehicle is a safety feature that reminds you to buckle up when you start the engine. In some 2021-2022 Model S, Model X, 2017-2022 Model 3, and 2020-2022 Model Y models, this chime might not sound if your seat belt isn't buckled.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're not wearing your seat belt and the chime doesn't sound, you might not realize you're not buckled up. This could increase your risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Free Fix
Tesla will send an update to your vehicle's software, which will fix the issue for free. You should schedule the update when you receive the recall notice, and you can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 if you have any questions.
