STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM

EVENT_SUMMARY
Your vehicle's power steering system has aluminum bolts that may corrode and break. This can cause your steering to become harder to turn, especially at low speeds.
RISK_ASSESSMENT
If the steering becomes harder to turn, you may have to use more force to steer, which can increase the risk of a crash, especially at low speeds.
RESOLUTION_PROTOCOL
Tesla will replace the aluminum bolts with new, coated steel bolts and add a protective coating to the power steering motor. They'll do this for free, and if the bolts are already broken, they'll replace the entire power steering gear. This will be done at a Tesla Service Center, and you'll be notified when it's time to bring your vehicle in.
