Your vehicle's ignition system has a small switch that might get dirty and allow you to remove the key from the ignition when the transmission shift lever isn't in 'Park'.
RISK_ASSESSMENT
If you remove the key while the shift lever is in a position other than 'Park', you might accidentally roll away and get hurt, or crash.
RESOLUTION_PROTOCOL
Volkswagen will fix this by installing a new switch and circuit board at no cost to you, and will notify you when it's time to bring your vehicle in for the repair.
