What Happened
The driveshaft in your vehicle is like a long rod that connects your engine to your wheels. It's made of carbon fiber, which can be strong, but in some 2016-2017 AMG GTS and 2017 AMG GT models, the bond between the driveshaft and the engine is weak.
Risk if Unfixed
If the driveshaft breaks apart while you're driving, you'll lose power to your wheels and may struggle to control your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Mercedes-Benz dealer will replace the entire driveshaft, including the connection point, with a stronger version, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
