What Happened
The B-pillars in your X1 are the vertical supports on either side of your rear windows. In some 2016-2019 models, these pillars might not absorb enough impact in a crash, which could leave you vulnerable to injury.
Risk if Unfixed
In a severe crash, the B-pillars might not protect you from head injuries as well as they should. This could lead to more serious injuries than if the pillars were designed to absorb the impact properly.
