What Happened
Your vehicle's transmission shifter cable bushing may wear out and detach from the transmission, allowing you to shift into Park but not actually be in Park.

If you exit your vehicle without putting the parking brake on, it could roll away and increase the risk of a crash.

How to Get This Fixed

Free Fix
Ford will replace the shifter cable bushing for free, and you should contact them at 1-866-436-7332 to schedule the repair. In the meantime, always use the parking brake to be safe.
