What Happened
The air bag in front of you is a safety device that inflates in a crash to protect you. In some 2012-2013 BMW X3 and M6 models, the air bag's metal casing might not be properly secured.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag deploys in a crash, the metal casing could break loose and hit you, causing serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty air bag with a new one, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
