What Happened
The parking brake indicator light in your Sonata or Genesis is supposed to turn on when you engage the parking brake. But in some 2015-2016 models, corrosion in the switch might cause it to flicker or not turn on at all.
Risk if Unfixed
If the parking brake indicator light is off when you've actually engaged the parking brake, you might not realize it's on, which could lead to a crash if you're driving down a hill or other situation where the parking brake is crucial.
