What Happened
Your Subaru Legacy or Outback from 2017, made between September 21-23, 2016, has a potential issue with the knee guard bracket attached to the steering column.
Risk if Unfixed
If your knee guard isn't secure and you're not wearing a seatbelt, you could be at risk of injury in a crash because the knee guard may not hold you in place.
Free Fix
Subaru will notify you and fix the issue for free by inspecting and replacing the steering beam assembly if needed, starting November 14, 2016.
