What Happened
Your vehicle has a driveshaft that connects the engine to the front wheels. It's like a long, flexible rod that helps your car turn and move forward. In your 2011 X5 or X6, there's a joint at the front of the driveshaft that might let water and debris inside, which could damage it.
Risk if Unfixed
If this joint fails while you're driving, your front wheels could stop being driven, making it harder to steer and control your vehicle. If you keep driving with a broken joint, it could damage other parts, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the front driveshaft with a new one, and it will be done at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you'll receive a notification with the schedule for the fix.
